Wade and Emilie Porter met with some of the elders recently and stated that they wish to work and fellowship with us at Central. Please welcome and encourage them.

Lorraine Baker: “God bless all my children.”

Tony Callins: “Please pray for my wife. Mary had to be taken to the ER again Saturday (August 14th) with lower abdominal pain like she had in 2019. CAT Scan taken Saturday night did not reveal the source of pain. However, this time her ER doctor recommended her to a surgeon for further exploration. Please pray for God’s will in this. Our desire is that God will grant us His favor; that Mary will get to see the surgeon early this week because her pain is debilitating. Our desire is that the problem and the solution to be discovered that will give her relief and complete healing very soon. Thanks. (Update: Mary was able to get in to see a surgeon Monday, August 16th. She had a pelvis X-ray and should hear the results today.)

Ben Clark: “Praise God for a clear M.R.I. and bloodwork, as well as relief from the wildfires in Greece.”

Lisa Cooper: “Thank you for your prayers for my brother, Greg. As I’ve shared before he is willing to do physical therapy, but I can’t get the medical people to cooperate in sending instructions as to where and when to go. Pray that God will provide a way where there seems to be no way for I have inquired of them many times.”

Dorans: “Please pray for Mary Callins. She is suffering from debilitating hip pain. Pray for a diagnosis and solution.” (See update on Tony Callins’ prayer request.)

Lance and Jodi Moore: “Please pray for my son, Matthew, and his wife, Suzy, for the birth of healthy twin boys on Tuesday, August 17th.”

Johnny Powell is in Huntsville Hospital, room 1745. He has a growth on his left side. Please keep him in your prayers. (Update: Johnny is now at home. Please continue to keep him and his daughter, Louise Williams, in your prayers as Louise takes care of him.)

Tom and Selwyn Reynolds: “1) Please pray for Regina Ralston as she sees a doctor (Monday, August 16th) about surgery to remove additional spots of cancer and possibly more lymph nodes. Please pray the cancer has not spread. She gets more scan results this week. 2) Please pray for Selwyn’s brother-in-law, Kelly, for healing and relief from undiagnosed health problems and pray for a diagnosis.” (Update: “1) Dr. at Vanderbilt is referring Regina to a surgeon who she will see on August 24. He will go in and try to remove the lymph nodes. If the infection is too deep and he can't get it all he will not remove them and will not remove the spot on her foot. He will start her on a second immunotherapy treatment that is stronger, and she will do the 2 meds at the same time. Dr. said scan didn't look like the infection was too deep, but they won't know until they get inside and look. Pray the infection isn't too bad so he can remove the lymph nodes and the spot on her foot, and she will keep doing the same immunotherapy. 2) Selwyn’s brother-in-law is feeling worse so still need prayers for diagnosis and relief.”)

Please pray for Robert Wade, who is not feeling well. His illness is not COVID related. (Update: Robert is feeling better.)

The purpose of the event is to educate our families on the hazards of screen time/social media and to present options on how they can better get involved in their teen’s personal and technological lives. Dr. Joshua Straub, Ph.D. will be explaining the dangers of screens in the home, educating how to bridge the emotional gap and spiritual gap and fill the emotion voids left by screen time. We believe that learning how to manage and engage screens are imperative to family life in our current culture. Please make plans to join this event.
