REJOICE

We rejoice with the angels over the birth of a new brother. Bryce Kuykendall, who has been studying with the Nances and Guthries, was baptized Monday, December 23rd. Please keep Bryce in your prayers as he is overseas and will return in March.

  Debra Beaird: Dana Conant – Hospitalized with COPD, etc., etc. Phyllis and Fred Vanderburg – death of 57 years old son, Rex; Michael Vanderburg – death of brother, Rex; Chris Vanderburg and children – death of husband/father, Rex; Steve and Ann Vanderburg, Brittany and Skyler – death of brother/brother-in-law/uncle.” (Update: Dana is in Huntsville Hospital, Room 560.)

  Trevvor and Stephanie Clark: “We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our fourth child in early July! Please pray for our family as everyone gets used to the idea of a new addition and as we seek wisdom concerning purchasing a new house for our growing family.”

  Cornelius: “Prayers for healing for Shirley and Jerrell Stephens who are both ill.”

  The Guthries: “Praise God for the baptism of our friend, Bryce Kuykendall, last week. He has been visiting Central for the past year and a half and also attending the Nances’ LIFE Talk.”

  Lilli Karlin: “Please pray for Andrew Dixon (my son) – for healing of a mass in his head around his pituitary gland.”

  Jamie Kuhn: “Please lift up everyone as we enter into this New Year that we may grow closer to God. I pray especially for myself that I may throw off all that so easily entangles and may run the race set before me. Please also pray that we can all carry forward the wonderful messages and scriptures from this incredible Journey. Thank you to all who contributed our efforts to make this Journey possible.”

  John Kuhn Family: “Continued prayers for wisdom and direction regarding our next best step with Sarah in managing educational difficulties. Prayers for healing of friend, Mindy Sims, dealing with cancer and Lois Hewlett, who is struggling with come complications after recent surgery.”

  Brandon Sherrill: “Please keep Rachael and the kids in your prayers. We have had a lingering cough and cold that will not seem to go away. I know there are others in our church family that are sick as well. We pray we can all get through the sickness soon.”

  Wiseharts:Michael Turnipseed’s grandmother had a stroke on December 26. Please pray for healing, comfort and peace for the whole family.”

SYMPATHY

Our sympathy is extended to The Eads Family in the passing of Sonja’s step-father, Wes Rager, Monday, December 30th. His visitation is tonight at the Limestone Chapel on Hwy. 31 in Athens from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. His funeral will be tomorrow at the same place at 1:00 p.m.

Thank you for your loving support after my father’s death. Your support was deeply felt. Please continue to pray for our family as we adjust to life without Dad.

Our congratulations to Gail Jones (proud grandmother) and Clyde Jones (proud great-grandfather) of a boy. Alexander Mark Ehsani was born Monday, December 20th, weighing 7 pounds and 9 ounces.

FAMILY VACATION RETREAT

JANUARY 17TH – 20TH, 2020

The campus ministry's annual Family Vacation Retreat in Panama City Beach is here again. This year's theme is SHOOK, Shaken by God, Shaking the World. As last year, those Central teens who are juniors and seniors are also invited to join and the campus ministry will help sponsor those that want to go. There will be special classes designed for them. Rodney, our youth minister, will be going with the teens. We really hope this will be well attended by our teens and college. The cost is $80 per person. Note that cash will also need to be taken to cover meals. The deadline for signing up for the trip is January 10. There will be a meeting on Thursday, January 16, at 7:00 at the building for all those going. Trip information will be discussed and needed forms will be filled out. If you have any questions, interested in going, or interested in helping someone to go that is financially unable, please contact Gerry Binford (256-508-9407). 

MEAL PREPARATIONS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE

The sign-up list to prepare meals for the college ministry at their FNLs (Friday Night Live) is posted inside of the kitchen area. LIFE Talks or individuals, please sign up. Thanks. Any questions contact Carla Campbell (256-882-6449). 

HELP NEEDED

Servants are needed to serve in the Nursery during Sunday Assemblies. A new signup sheet has been posted outside the nursery or contact Cathy Farless at 256-509-3541 (text or voice) if you are willing to help.

Join us at the Central building and enjoy time connecting with other couples while strengthening your marriage.

Theme: Making Our Marriage A Light For Jesus

Date/Location: February 7th – 9th at Central Church building

Speakers: Robert and Stella Wilson – Family Dynamics Institute, Atlanta

Registration: NOW—mid-January    

Suggested donation: $65 per couple to cover speakers and retreat expenses. Donations not required but appreciated. Assistance by providing scholarship money will be appreciated.

Lunch Provided: Saturday, February 8th

Childcare: If possible, please make other arrangements for childcare and utilize in- house childcare only as a back-up plan.
