PRAYER REQUESTS
Ø
Cathy
Farless: “We
thank everyone for their prayers for the Colorado fires. Last Sunday (October
18th) afternoon the wind died down and they had some rain. The fires
are still increasing in size but have not encroached any nearer to Loveland
where Carrie lives. They are still dealing with lots of smoke and Carrie
says it is snowing ash. Continue to pray that this situation improves.”
Ø
Claudia
Ford:
“Prayers for safe travel this upcoming week as I travel to Ohio to spend a few
days with family and then returning with our mother who is there now.”
Ø
William
Greenleaf’s cataract
surgery on his left eye went well today. Please continue to keep him in your
prayers for healing.
Ø
Nikki
Holley:
“Please pray for Gaynell Murray Heastie , who has been diagnosed with
breast cancer. Pray for her as she continues with more testing. Please pray
also for her daughters, Samantha and Brittney, especially her youngest
as she is really having a hard time with this news.”
Ø
Barbara
Hopkins will
be having surgery tomorrow on her finger. Please pray that all goes well.
Ø
Carol
Kuhn: “Bill
will be having some significant medical testing done on November 3.
Please pray for a good outcome.”
Ø
“Pray for a family that are
friends of Mike and Dawn Long. They are having family difficulties. Pray
for peace, love, and forgiveness for the family. Can’t give name because of
privacy. Thanks.”
Ø
Please keep Tim Lewis in
your prayers, as he had neck surgery Tuesday, October 22nd.
Ø
Jim
and LaVonne Norville ask
us to pray for their friend, Daniel Hamm, who was taken back to
Vanderbilt Hospital as he needs treatments that they do not have in Paducah.
The new cancer (lymphoma) is the problem right now. Please pray that this trip
will not be 5 weeks and that the treatment will work for good and not shutdown
everything like before. Also pray for Daniel’s wife and for her
strength.
Ø

Response to Hurricanes Laura and Delta (and maybe Zeta!) Second attempt: Matt
Lucas and I are leading a team to Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 8-11.
We will leave from Central at 7:00 AM on Sunday November 8 (arriving there
about 4:00 PM) and leaving there November 11 at 8:00 AM and return around 5 PM.
If you
are interested in joining the team or if you want more information, please
contact me (David Nance 256-653-1802). You can also find out more information
about the group we are working with at: https://www.churchesofchristdrt.org
Also,
if you want to go, please go ahead and sign up on the volunteer page on this
site. Please use the dates and time
estimates provided. It is better for DRT for you to sign up and not show than
to not sign up and show up.
HELP NEEDED
Four new teams are being formed
for Assembly Set-Up for Sunday mornings in our Family Life Center. The four
team leaders and the months for which they are responsible are: Tony Callins
– January, May, September; Steve Lowery – February, June, October; Joel
Moore – March, July, November; and Garrett Bell – April, August,
December. Four people are needed on each team – 16 servants. If you can help,
please let Gerry Binford know or email pat@centralfamily.org
and let us know which team you would like to be on. (Please note:
set-up is on Saturday; therefore, even if you are watching on-line during
Sunday morning at the present time, you can help set-up on Saturday.) Thank you
in advance for serving the body in this capacity.
PRESCHOOL TO BEGIN THIS SUNDAY
Preschool will begin to meet for
classes Sunday, November 1. Please only bring your child to class if he or she
is well. Teachers and helpers will plan to wear face shields or masks. Students
will not be expected to wear masks. We will plan for the children to wash or
sanitize their hands when they enter the class and before they eat if there is
a snack. We plan to have a 4-year-old/Kindergarten class meet in the
Kindergarten room, a 3’s and 2’s class meet in the 2-year-old room, and
toddlers and under will meet in the toddler/childcare room. Please plan to have
children to their classes and allow yourself enough time to get to the gym for
class by 9:15.
Also, at assembly time, we will
offer childcare for ages 2 and under in the toddler/childcare room.
If someone is interested in
helping in this area, please contact Suzie Nance (256-653-2508 or
drnance@hiwaay.net
).
ELEMENTARY TO BEGIN SUNDAY MORNING
CLASS THIS SUNDAY
Elementary will begin meeting for
classes on Sunday, November 1. Please only bring your child to class if he or
she is well. Teachers and helpers will wear face shields or masks. Elementary
students are expected to wear masks or face shields and to sanitize their hands
upon entry. Based on parent responses, we will have two classes: a younger
elementary class for 1st & 2nd graders in the Big
Room and an older elementary class for 3rd, 4th, & 5th
graders in the normally 2nd grade room; both classrooms are prepared
for students to practice social distancing. A virtual lesson will continue to
be provided on Central's Elementary Ministry Facebook group. Club Xtreme
will resume class and continue their weekly Zoom meetings. Please plan to have
children to their classes at 9:00 and allow yourself enough time to get to the
gym for class before the live streaming commences at 9:15.
TRUNK OR TREAT – THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31ST –

A couple of reminders for those helping with our Trunk or Treat
this year.
1. Everyone needs to be ready by 5:00 p.m. with
your mask.

your vehicle, you are asked to park in the parking lot across from the church
building.
3. If you are decorating your vehicle,
please have everything set up before 5:00 p.m. You are also responsible for at
least a couple of bags of candy to pass out at your spot. (If you run out of
candy, please see Rodney, as some has been donated.) Also, if you are
passing out candy, you must wear gloves. (If you need some, please see Rodney
or the food court.) Do not allow the children to grab their own candy.
