REJOICE

We rejoice with the angels over the birth of two new brothers. Brian Johnson and Chris Stolz, both residents of His Way, were baptized Sunday, August 2nd. Please welcome and encourage them.

WELCOME

John and Christina Johnston and their family met with the elders and wish to work and fellowship with us at Central. They have six beautiful girls: Sara-Olivia (9th grader at Buckhorn High), Raelle (7th grader at Buckhorn Middle), Ella-Marie (5th grader at Riverton Intermediate), Braniya (4th grader at Riverton Intermediate), Bailey-Grace (1st grader at Riverton Elementary), and Amelia-Wren (1 year old). Please welcome and encourage them.

SYMPATHY

Our sympathy to the family of our sweet 108 years old member, Martha Jones. Ms. Martha passed Thursday evening (August 6th). Graveside services will be Sunday, August 9th, at the Valhalla Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. This service is mostly for family, as several members of the family are high risk for COVID. If you do attend, masks are required and social distancing. Valhalla will also be live-streaming her service. You may go to Valhalla Funeral on Facebook and hit “live-streaming” or go to their website and scroll down to the bottom for live streaming. Cards may be sent to the family, c/o Faye Heaton, 124 Antique Rose Drive, Madison, AL 35758. (The family wanted you all to know that Ms. Martha loved you all and appreciated so much the church at Central.)

PRAYER REQUESTS

Ř  Justin Cummings, son of Jon and Willa/grandson of William and Janice Greenleaf, had an accident Wednesday, August 5th. He had a really bad cut to his right shinbone and had to have several stitches and stay home for a couple of weeks.

Ř  Carrie Wisehart requests our prayers for her 15-year-old nephew, Sean Marquette, who is in the Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. The doctors found a staph infection. Please pray for his healing and that the antibiotics take care of this.

NOTE FROM FRITZ NELSON

The pandemic has given me pause to think of things I seem to take for granted. I think of the hugs and handshakes. The voices which sing praises to our God. This morning I was reading in Philippians where Paul says he has learned to be content whatever the circumstances (Philippians 4:11). This while in prison!              Your brother in Christ,

Fritz

PLEASE SEND A CARD

Bill Townsley, one of our shut-ins, will be celebrating his 82nd birthday TODAY! Happy Birthday, Bill!

GOOD NEWS FROM KISHORE

Kishore wanted to thank the congregation at Central for your prayers. God has granted a peaceful resolution to the government crisis in Guyana!

The saga has taken over a year and a half to resolve. After an election earlier this year, the recent past president tried for months to instigate violence and then declare martial law but failed. Finally, he stepped down and the legally elected president was sworn-in in a very short and peaceful process.

God truly is Sovereign over all the nations!
