August 4, 2021
We rejoice with the angels over the birth of three new brothers: Nick Sewell (July 29th) has been studying with James Ryans; Carson King (July 30th) is a resident of His Way studying with Jim Norville, and Ethan Andrews (July 31st) who is the son of Alonzo and LaQuinta and is part of our teen ministry. Please welcome and encourage all of them.
Ø Alonzo and LaQuinta Andrews: “1) Sincere thank you for the sweet, sweet card from the Sonrisers in sympathy for the loss of my mother. It was so thoughtful and your prayers are greatly appreciated. 2) We are also so thankful that Ethan chose to put on Christ yesterday (July 31st). Thank you to everyone who planted seeds over the years. Please surround him with love and support as he grows in Christ.”
Ø Karin Bell: “Praise God for all of the spiritual births and physical births we’ve witnessed lately. It’s beautiful to see when we all come together!”
Ø Kyearia Booker: “Prayers for my sister, Kamia, and her heart condition. Prayers for upcoming semester and that I know more in Christ.”
Ø Jon and Pat Canterbury: “Please pray for our son, Shawn Canterbury, who has broken his leg and ankle this weekend. Pray no surgery is required. Also pray for his wife, Tara, as she starts back doing her elementary school counseling. She also has their 3 girls to get to their many activities plus everything else. Thank you.” (Update: Shawn has a Maisonneuve Fracture and is scheduled to have surgery Monday, August 9th. Please keep him in your prayers.)
Ø Stacey Condron: “Continuing prayers for my friend, Carla, and her family. She is still on a ventilator and slowly making good progress.”
Ø Lisa Cooper: “I ask prayers for my brother, Greg, that he trusts the Lord with physical therapy in which he has agreed to participate. Pray for patience, commitment, and faith.”
Ø Greg and Kara Cornelius: “Prayers for the family of Wayne Meeks (our friend) due to the passing of his brother, Johnny Meeks.”
Ø Please keep Juanita Crittenden's mother, Ruth Thompson, in your prayers. She was taken to the hospital yesterday (August 3rd). After running tests, the doctors say she has COVID Pneumonia. Cards may be sent to her at 18870 SW 328th Street, Homestead, Florida 33030.
Ø The Greenleafs: “Please pray for our grandson, Justin, who had a wreck Friday afternoon. He had injury to his mouth and his braces because of the airbag. All checked good with the MRI. Pray he recovers from his injuries and gains skill and confidence in driving. We praise God that he is safe.”
Ø John Kuhn: “Prayers for: Jennifer to feel better; Rose, Wagner, and other students starting school; co-worker, Tammy Hunter, hospitalized for COVID; and possible child custody situation for a friend.”
Ø David Nance: “"I have a prayer request from a brother in El Salvador: Osvaldo Azucena (brother of Samuel Azucena who came to Central a few years ago) is having difficulty recovering from a recent illness and is going to a pulmonary doctor tomorrow (August 4). He is asking us to pray for him and especially that his state of mind is clear since the illness has made it hard for him to think clearly. Osvaldo has been instrumental in helping us in our mission trips there. Thank you for your prayers!"
Ø Ogle Family: “Please pray for our family as Brandon has been out of town for work. It has been hard on us, and we need strength to get through this.”
Ø Rachel Ray: “Graham will be undergoing surgery for a hip replacement on 11 August. Please pray for safety, success, and smooth recovery. He has been directed to stay out of public for the time from now until after surgery so that is why he is staying home.”
Ø Reynolds: “Please pray for Tom Wilkins, father-in-law of Breana (Tom’s daughter), who has COVID. He is 88 and has compromised health.”
