Central family,

This is one of those times when saying THANK YOU doesn’t seem like enough. Thanks for everything – food, prayers, calls.                                       The Teague family

Dear Central Family,

Juanita stopped by Monday afternoon, June 1st, with a great gift of fruit, candy, etc. and especially lots of peanut butter, which I sure enjoy. Want to thank all the body for this and the “love” I know is a part of it.                                                            In the love of Christ, Clyde Jones

P.S. Look forward to seeing everyone in the near future.

There will be a time to honor two of our elders, who will be stepping down, and their families. On Sunday, June 14th, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. we will have an opportunity to show our appreciation to Richard and Sandra Brown and Ed and Delois Smith and their children, Meghan and Alex.

The following are the plans for that day:

1)     We will have a walk thru the FLC (gym) beginning at 5:00 with those who are at risk people and those older than 60. Then we will schedule people to go. Those with last names A – D go from 5:30 – 5:50; E – K attend 6:00 – 6:20; L – P coming from 6:30 – 6:50; and Q – Z may go from 7:00 – 7:20.

2)     If you are unable to attend, you may record a message to them.

3)     Instructions for the walk-thru: You will enter through the FLC (gym) glass doors. The Browns and Smiths will be on the stage area. (Feel free to bring cards/notes and there will be baskets for you to place them in.) There will be a place when you are exiting to record a personal note. All exiting will be through the kitchen/fellowship hall doors.

4)     Please note that we are requesting that you wear a mask. If you do not have one, there will be  some at the entrance.

The Campus Ministry is excited about bringing in the second candidate to look at our college ministry, Daniel Alavi. Daniel and his wife, Fallon, will be with the Central family on June 18-21. There will be a church meet/greet event on Saturday, June 20, from 11:30-1:30 at the church building. This will be an opportunity for anyone to drop by and meet Daniel and Fallon. Lunch will not be provided. Later, on Saturday, there will be a dinner/devotional event with the college students at Mike and Lora Porters’ house from 3:00-7:00. College students and graduating high schoolers are encouraged to participate as this will give them an opportunity to interact with Daniel and Fallon. On Sunday, June 21, Daniel will teach in the gym during the assembly time. His lesson will be primarily directed toward a college audience. College students, graduating high-schoolers, and New Beginnings folks are encouraged to attend. This will give the college students and graduating high-schoolers a second opportunity to interact with Daniel and Fallon. This will also give those closest in age to the Alavis an opportunity to interact with them. Please be in prayer for the Alavi family and their visit with us.

There are some masks (sizes: child – XL adult) in the church office for those who do not have one and would like one. They are made out of fabric and are washable. Please contact the office (256-534-0382) before coming by to get one.

On Wednesday, June 10 from 7:00-8:00pm, Central will host an online session with the newly appointed elders. The elders will share some things that have been on their hearts and minds, and they will open the floor for questions and feedback. This session will be hosted online using Zoom. The waiting room will open by 6:45pm so that you can test your connection ahead of time. To connect, select the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86477566814?pwd=UnM1WWdCMHlYQjRJdXlpbVVzRUdiUT09. Look forward to seeing you then!

Individual prefilled communion cups are available at the church office. You may pick up as many as you need. (Please call – 256-534-0382 or 256-508-9404 before coming to make sure we are here.) When we leave the church office on Friday, we will leave some on a wicker chair on the church office porch.
