SUNDAY ADULT CLASS
OPTIONS – SPRING 2022
March 6
through May 22
1. The
Story of Redemption (Family Life Center; Coordinator: Loren Wisehart)
This series presents the biblical account of the
human problem, salvation, and a new life in Jesus Christ. Beginning with creation,
the class follows the “big picture” storyline of the Bible as it finds meaning
and completion in Jesus. Each week, participants are invited to arrive early
for fellowship. Upon entering the gymnasium, participants will be assisted in
finding a small group. After a call to order and welcome, all groups will watch
a 5-10 minute video. Once the video is done, groups
will read a Bible passage related to the video, discuss questions, and pray for
one another. Groups will wrap up before 10 am in order to move chairs into
place for the large assembly which begins at 10:15 am.
2.
Women’s Ministry (Library; Coordinators: Sue
Underwood and Kim Story)
This class provides Bible-based content in a LIFE
Talk setting and is set up to minister to women who are the head of their
household and women whose husbands are not Christians. Women of all ages and
situations are welcome who wish to participate in this ministry. The class is
generally organized to alternate between Old Testament and New Testament books,
topics, and ideas. However, prayer and sharing are also integral parts of the
class. As participants begin to apply the teaching to their own lives, they are
invited to openly share burdens with one another. This is so that others who
have walked that path previously can share their own experience and wisdom in
how to face that situation faithfully. While two ladies provide the principal
oversight for the class, a number of ladies from within the class will be
encouraged to lead individual sessions, usually a week or two at a time.
WEDNESDAY
ADULT CLASS OPTIONS – SPRING 2022
March 9
through May 25
1.
The Power to Change the World: A Study of the
Book of Acts (Library; Coordinator: Melinda Goad; Women only)
The
Christian church began in a provincial backwater and was led by people with no power,
wealth, or status. Because the same Jesus and Spirit reside in us, we too can
influence a decaying society without relying on laws, endowments, or viral
movements.
Ladies, join us Wednesdays this
Spring at 7 pm, in person or via Zoom, as we study the acts of Jesus and the
Spirit as they guide ordinary people in establishing a Godly community. You can
join us in person in the library, or you can participate via Zoom by clicking
the link in each week's bulletin.
During the week, each of us will
use the Bible study method we find most suitable and on Wednesdays we will
share what we learned from the assigned reading. If you are interested in
participating, please call or email Pat Canterbury and Juanita Crittenden at
the church office to have your name added to the email list. We look
forward to hearing your thoughts. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86546256824?pwd=ZndPSUdCUm02ZVJ1THdZVG5KWEk2QT09
2.
Growing in Personal Bible Study (Family Life
Center; Teacher: Gregg Rigney)
Many Christians feel the need for
more intentional personal Bible study, but do not know how to begin. This
quarter we will explore ways to read Scripture more carefully, better interpret
the text, and make robust applications to our personal circumstances. Wherever
you are in your Christian walk, we welcome you to join us as we work together
to improve our understanding of and faithfulness to God’s story. Zoom link:

3.
Generational Discipleship (Room 200; Leader: Daniel Alavi)
The Church in the West is facing a
steep decline, yet the Body of Christ worldwide is thriving like never before.
The center of Christianity is slowly moving towards the Global South, into
areas and people groups where the church has virtually no major denominational
leanings, no governmental recognition or legitimacy, no bank accounts, no
501c3s, no Bible Schools or seminaries, and no assets, properties, or
buildings. In spite of this, hundreds of churches are being planted, thousands
of disciples are being made, and millions are being baptized into the name of
Jesus!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD
When religious words are used frequently, they
can begin to lose their meaning by becoming too familiar. The word “Gospel” is
no exception. In our upcoming 5-week series entitled The Kingdom of God,
we’re going to unpack not just the basic meaning of the word “Gospel” but
also its implications for Christians and non-Christians alike. Why is the
Gospel considered good news? Why should I care? And even more so, why should I
share it with others?
Join your Central Family as we explore this
simple yet profound phrase and learn how it shapes every aspect of our lives.
