REJOICE
We rejoice with the angels over
the birth of a new brother. Matthew Weeks, a resident of His Way,
was baptized this morning (October 28th). Please welcome and
encourage our newest brother.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Debbie
Cole:
“Prayers please for my granddaughter Quincy’s best friend at University
of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. She is in a fight for her life in UAB, ICU, following
a head-on collision with a drunk driver. The two drivers both died at the
scene. Her name is Victoria Ray (18 years old). Her parents came from
Texas to be with her. Multiple broken bones throughout her body and she can’t
breathe without a ventilator. Unsure yet if she sustained brain injury.”
(Update: “Victoria is slowly getting better. Her vent tube was removed
on Sunday evening. She was able to tell her parents that she loved them. She is
having constant surgeries trying to repair all the lacerations and broken
bones. They have a P.O. Box set up for cards or letter of encouragement: Victoria
Ray, Melanie Ray, and Kevin Ray, c/o Misty Haynes,
P.O. Box 122, Gardendale, AL 35071.)
Robbie
Griffin: “Please
pray for my brother, David, who has just been diagnosed with lymphoma.
The prognosis is very hopeful because they have caught it so early. David
is a Christian and trusts that he is in the Lord's hands. The family is
hopeful, but we would appreciate any prayers. Thank you.”
Carol
Kuhn: “"Please
continue to lift up Bill in prayer. His tests will happen this
Tuesday." (Update from Bill and Carol: “Please send our thanks to
all who prayed for Bill. Tests came out good!!! Praising God!!!”)
Jim
and LaVonne Norville
continue to ask for prayers for their friend, Daniel Hamm. They have
found two light colored spots on his brain with a CT scan. The spots are cancer.
They are going to be giving him a new kind of chemo. He is definitely getting
worse.
Grant
Ralph:
“Work was very stressful Saturday night which has made me cry this morning plus
seeing brothers that I haven’t seen in weeks. Please pray that God will
strengthen me more and more so that I can face stressful work-days more
successfully.”

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT CLASS

adult class. This will be streamed live from 9:15 - 10:00 a.m. Our assembly
will follow at 10:15.
PRESCHOOL SUNDAY CLASSES
Preschool began to meet for
classes last Sunday, November 1. Please only bring your child to class if he or
she is well. Teachers and helpers will plan to wear face shields or masks.
Students will not be expected to wear masks. We will plan for the children to
wash or sanitize their hands when they enter the class and before they eat if
there is a snack. We plan to have a 4-year-old/Kindergarten class meet in the
Kindergarten room, a 3’s and 2’s class meet in the 2-year-old room, and
toddlers and under will meet in the toddler/childcare room. Please plan to have
children to their classes and allow yourself enough time to get to the gym for
class by 9:15.
Also, at assembly time, we will
offer childcare for ages 2 and under in the toddler/childcare room.
If someone is interested in
helping in this area, please contact Suzie Nance (256-653-2508 or
drnance(-at-)hiwaay.net
).
ELEMENTARY SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES
Elementary also began meeting for
classes on last Sunday, November 1. Please only bring your child to class if he
or she is well. Teachers and helpers will wear face shields or masks.
Elementary students are expected to wear masks or face shields and to sanitize
their hands upon entry. Based on parent responses, we will have two classes: a
younger elementary class for 1st & 2nd graders in the
Big Room and an older elementary class for 3rd, 4th,
& 5th graders in the normally 2nd grade room; both
classrooms are prepared for students to practice social distancing. A virtual
lesson will continue to be provided on Central's Elementary Ministry Facebook
group. Club Xtreme will resume class and continue their weekly Zoom
meetings. Please plan to have children to their classes at 9:00 and allow
yourself enough time to get to the gym for class before the live streaming
commences at 9:15.

leaving there November 11 at 8:00 AM and return around 5 PM.

contact me (David Nance 256-653-1802). You can also find out more information
about the group we are working with at: https://www.churchesofchristdrt.org
Also,

to not sign up and show up.
HELP NEEDED
Four new teams are being formed
for Assembly Set-Up for Sunday mornings in our Family Life Center. The four
team leaders and the months for which they are responsible are: Tony
Callins’ Team – January, May, September; Steve Lowery – February,
June, October; Joel Moore – March, July, November; and Garrett Bell
– April, August, December. Four people are needed on each team – 16 servants.
If you can help, please let Gerry Binford know or email pat(-at-)centralfamily.org
and let us know which team you would like to be on. (Please note:
set-up is on Saturday; therefore, even if you are watching at the present time
on-line during Sunday morning, you can help set-up on Saturday.) Thank you in
advance for serving the body in this capacity.
CENTRAL CHURCH ANGEL TREE
If you know of someone who needs
help with Christmas this year, please email Juanita Crittenden at juanita(-at-)centralfamily.org and she
will send you a form that you will need to fill out and return quickly. Thanks
for your continued support.
