PRAYER REQUESTS

  Lorraine Baker: Please pray for Jacob and Justin Rogers. Their dad died Saturday morning (August 21st) of natural causes.”

  Kyearia Booker: “Please pray for my aunt, Lisa. She is 7 months pregnant, and she passed out and hit concrete. Her face is bruised. We are just hoping that she and her baby will be okay.” (Update: “They are both doing just fine now.”)

  Carla Campbell requests our prayers as she will be driving her brother to St. Louis Tuesday, August 24th, for kidney surgery. She may have to make difficult decisions for him if he needs a kidney removed. (Update: Carla’s brother, Paul, ended up not having surgery yesterday. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.)

  Please keep the Crittenden family in your prayers as they bury Juanita’s mother, Ruth Thompson, Friday, August 27th, in Homestead, FL.

  Charlie and Barbara Hopkins: “Charlie is having a procedure Thursday morning (August 26) at Huntsville Hospital to implant a Watchman in a heart appendage. This will take care of past problem of losing blood and reduce the risk of stroke due to having atrial fibrillation. Hopefully, it will be a one-night hospital stay. Pray that the procedure will go well. Thanks for your prayers."

  Lance and Jodi Moore: “Please pray for my cousin, Marty, who has cancer, and for his family. Pray for Jodi’s Aunt Linda.”

Our sympathy is also extended to The Apgar Family and Mark Lowery family in the passing of Terri Apgar’s mother/Caroline Lowery’s grandmother Thursday morning, August 19th, in New Hampshire.

CONGRATULATIONS

Our congratulations to Lance and Jodi Moore, who are the grandparents to twin boys. Henry and Conner Moore were born Tuesday, August 17th.

TUESDAY LADIES CLASS COMING SOON

     The 2021 Fall Ladies’ Class will begin September 7th. This class encourages all ladies, young to old, to seek growth through study and service. This session our study focus is developing and reflecting the character of God. Jen Wilkin’s book, In His Image, will help guide us through scripture on this topic.

     Class meets each Tuesday, 10:00 -11:30, until November 16th. (No class during school breaks).  Childcare for preschool children is provided. Please make your plans to join us. If you have questions, see Sue Underwood, Janice Greenleaf, or Terri Apgar.

ELEMENTARY SUMMER PROGRAM PRESENTATION

Everyone is invited to come and see the Elementary Summer Program Presentation Wednesday night, September 1st, during our class time at 7:00 p.m. Please come and encourage all these young people who have worked so hard to memorize Bible verses and learn how to serve others like Jesus.

CENTRAL WOMEN’S MINISTRY – GAME NIGHT

TEENS’ WALK4WATER

Walk4Water is a 4-mile fundraising walk that aims to raise money for clean water projects all over the world. Four miles is the average distance women and children walk each day in the developing world to get clean water. Below are the details for this event:

Date:   August 28th

Time:  9:00 a.m. registration / 9:30 a.m. start time at Big Spring Park, 200 Church Street

Parents of teens will be getting info via email.
