REJOICE

We rejoice with the angels over the birth of two new brothers and a new sister. Adam Clemons and Jason Sessions, both residents at His Way, gave their lives to the Lord. Adam was baptized Wednesday, July 15th and Jason was baptized Tuesday, July 21st. Lillie Wood, 9 years old daughter of Adam and Amber, was baptized Friday, July 17th. Lillie is active in our Elementary Ministry. Please welcome and encourage all of them.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Carla Arnold: “Please pray for Chris and Suzie Jackson. Chris had to be taken to Huntsville Hospital by ambulance Saturday night (July 18th). He has COVID-19. Please pray for Joel Arnold who has been with them this week and has been exposed. Please pray for Carrie, Caleb and Carla Arnold as they were exposed to Joel that same Saturday night for a few hours.” (Update: Chris was able to go home from the hospital yesterday. No test results back yet on Joel.)

Liz Audenaert – Update on her mom, Sally Mans: “The hospital is hopeful that mom can be released in two or three days. There’s a chance she would continue antibiotics intravenously for a bit. She is eating some food, as opposed to none. So there are some incremental improvements happening.”

Karin Bell: “Prayer request for Kyearia Booker, one of our college students who has just moved back to Huntsville. She is currently quarantined in her new apartment due to testing positive for COVID. Her mother and grandfather in Mobile also tested positive, and both are experiencing complications due to other conditions. Her grandfather is currently hospitalized.”

Greg and Kara Cornelius: “My stepdad, Jerriel Stephens, is in the hospital. Doctors are running tests. He may have had a mini stroke. Pray for all involved.”

The Guthries: “Please keep our Grandmom Guthrie (Mike’s mom) in your prayers. She had a stroke on Wednesday and is hospitalized. She is also heartbroken over the loss of her husband who passed away earlier this month.”

Nikki Holley: “Prayers for my supervisor and family who are positive for the COVID virus. Pray that they all recovery without complications.”

Tonda Kuhn: “Please add prayer for my mother. She will be seeing a dentist this Wednesday to have her broken teeth removed. It is very complicated because of her fragile health. Also, we could use prayers regarding our next best step educationally with Sarah. It’s so complicated and there are no great options. Her struggles are complex. What we really want is for the Lord to heal her brain, so that the trauma is healed, and she is able to learn more easily.”

Mike Porter: “My family and I are in need of the prayers of the congregation. I've recently been diagnosed with cancer, specifically CML or Leukemia. We are very anxious as we struggle to come to grips with the diagnosis.

I started chemo last week using a 2nd generation drug. We don't know how my body will respond or whether side-effects will cause worse damage.

At this time I feel fine. I'm continuing to telework for the Army and work here on the farm.  Although I feel good, my immune system is completely depleted so I can't be around anyone especially with COVID moving through our community.

We ask for your prayers that my body will respond well to the chemo, that the side-effects won't cause more damage and that the Lord will heal the disease and protect my family.

Thanks so much for your support. In the Lamb, Mike, Lora and Loran Porter

Grant Ralph: “My stepdad fell in the bathtub the Saturday before Father’s Day and his head hit the corner of it which caused him to be unconscious. After he woke up, he went to the hospital and they told him that he had a concussion.  Then, just yesterday morning he had what he called a ‘mini’ stroke which caused him to be a fall risk. He is still in the hospital ER. I’ll just pray for him and hope he can go home soon. I love him. I didn’t know I would ever say this about him. When mother passed, my resentment toward him took a 180 degree turn and I have love and deep compassion for him. I’ve been crying and praying for him. Please help me pray for him. Thank you.”

Jo Whitten requested prayers for daughter-in-law’s father, Kent Kilpatrick, earlier concerning a knee replacement after being in a motorcycle accident. The doctor did not have to replace the knee as originally thought. They repaired the fractures and sutured the lacerations on his leg. He is now doing therapy.

NOTE FROM FRITZ NELSON

Dear Central Family,

While I wish things would return to normal, I wonder what God thinks. Perhaps He is sending a message. I wish I knew. But what I do know is that He loves us very much. So much that He sent His one and only Son to this earth with a message. And it is that message that lets us know what we are currently experiencing is not real.

I hope everyone is complying with CDC guidelines and that your faith is growing each day.

Your brother in Christ,

Fritz
