REJOICE

We rejoice with the angels over the birth of a new brother. Scott Cupps, a resident at His Way, was baptized Monday, July 6th. Please welcome and encourage him.

PRAYER REQUESTS

The Callins Family: “We received a voicemail Sunday afternoon, July , that a resident at Brookshire Healthcare has COVID. Please keep James Hall, the residents, and staff there in your prayers.”

Trevvor and Stephanie Clark: “Baby Anne is due this week, and just asking for prayers for a smooth birth at home and a healthy baby. Also, next week on July 15, not only is it the big tax deadline for Trevvor at work, but it’s also our closing date for our new house in Lacey’s Spring. Prayers needed for peace in our family during all these transitions and changes!”

Grant Ralph: “I have been too nervous in my new job as cashier at Speedway, and have made some mistakes, pretty bad ones on the register. Please pray that I will be comfortable and confident when I go to work today (Sunday, July 5th) and at peace letting God take control instead of me.”

Tom and Selwyn Reynolds: “Please pray for complete healing for Tony Combs – husband of friend of Selwyn who had his big toe amputated due to bad infection.”

Our Shut-ins: Cindy Anderson, Lorraine Baker, Amelia Biser, Jamie Cole, James Hall, Martha Jones, Sally Mans, Johnny Powell, and Bill & Sherill Townsley.

Mothers-In-Waiting: Stephanie Clark (7/10), Angie Harrison (7/23), and Mishaella Ryans (10/1)

SYMPATHY

Our sympathy is extended the Guthrie Family in the passing of Mike’s father, Sam Guthrie, Wednesday, July 1st.

MASKS IN ASSEMBLIES – NOTE FROM THE ELDERS

On Monday, July 6, the Madison County, Alabama leadership issued a mandate that personal masks must be worn in public places beginning Tuesday, July 7, at 5:00 p.m. This mandate makes an exception for houses of worship but strongly encourages compliance. We, as elders, believe the houses of worship exception has nothing to do with our safety or health.

In order to demonstrate our love for all those who attend, beginning this Sunday, July 12, the wearing of masks is required for all who attend assemblies while in the building. We, in accordance with the mandate, will permit any person to remove their mask only while speaking on the stage. However, no one should be sitting within 6 feet of the stage.

Further, this makes separating into 2 groups (one in the gym and one in the auditorium) unnecessary. The primary assembly room will be the gym and any overflow will go to the auditorium. All current seating limits will remain in place.

We are fully aware of the burden this will place on some. And we fully understand the frustration of this change.  We feel the same frustration. We will continue to stream our assemblies for those unable or unwilling to assemble in person. We encourage everyone to make a faithful decision about your in-person assembly. Out of our love for our congregational family, we believe this to be the best for all.  No one on the staff or in the office is responsible for our decision. If you have issues or concerns, please direct them to one of us.

ONLINE ADULT WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUMMER SERIES

From June 17 through August 26 from 7:00-8:00pm, Central will host a series of “how to” sessions. The doctor and historian Luke reported that the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). What are some ways that could look like in practice? Join us each week to learn and to share! Each session will suggest some ways we can put into practice the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. This series will be hosted online using Zoom. To connect, select the following link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89700172301?pwd=M0FwcVpJTkxjWHNYVjBYa0dNQnJoZz09. We look forward to seeing you then!
