To the Central Family

Sandra and I want to thank you as best we can for the many expressions of appreciation and love at the reception given Sunday before last to honor the two elders who are resigning from serving in the formal role of elder. The reception, coming home and reading the cards carefully and reflecting on the many kind words said to us personally were simply overwhelming. This is a great congregation of God’s people, and it is truly an honor to have been selected three times to serve as an elder, some 32 years in all. Frankly, there have been times when I, Richard, wondered about my worthiness to serve in the role. I appreciate your many prayers, your support in so many ways and, yes, at times your forbearance, all of which have sustained me in this role. We very much appreciate your standing beside us for these many years. Together, the outpouring of appreciation at my 88th birthday on May 30th, speaking to the church, the reception, the many other expressions of appreciation, those who asked me to consider continuing – well, my words fail me. All of these have brought about a deeply moving and humbling experience.

A special note of thanks to Pat Canterbury, Juanita Crittenden, and Jimi Johnson for their labor of love in hosting this most memorable occasion.

Godspeed to each and every one of you in your Christian walk and may He continue to bless you!

In Christian Love,

Richard and Sandra

From June 17 through August 26 from 7:00-8:00pm, Central will host a series of “how to” sessions. The doctor and historian Luke reported that the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). What are some ways that could look like in practice? Join us each week to learn and to share! Each session will suggest some ways we can put into practice the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. This series will be hosted online using Zoom. To connect, select the following link We look forward to seeing you then!
