PRAYER REQUESTS

  Mary Callins: “Pray for our niece (Josette’s daughter), Jonay who was hospitalized Saturday (May 16th) in Augusta, GA. All we know so far is she has had to have a blood transfusion and may need surgery.” (Update: She will be having surgery sometime.)

  Ben Clark: “Please pray for Follin’s grandmother, Wanza, who is struggling with anemia and possible kidney failure. Also pray for Follin’s father, Harrison, who had a heart attack last week. His subsequent heart surgeries were not entirely successful, and we are waiting to hear from the doctors about his prognosis.” (Update: Follin’s grandmother is doing some better and still awaiting test results. Her father is now at home and Follin’s brother is helping out with him. Please continue to keep The Clarks and their family in your prayers.)

  Melanie Gipson: “Pray for my dad. He broke his ankle and heal – got 10 screws to keep all bones together. He will not be able to walk for 2 months. Pray for Ron Portzer.”

  Greenleafs: “Please pray for our friend, Ken Barfield, member at Mayfair who suffered a fall as he recovered from a recent back surgery. He is in Crestwood Hospital in great pain. Also pray for his wife, Merry, who is unable to be with him because of virus restrictions. Thank you.” (Update: Mr. Barfield is now back at Magnolia Trace, where he lives.)

  Nikki Holley: “Please pray for my children.”

  Lee Strickland is requesting prayers for friend, Jack Taylor. His wife, Carmen Olivia Taylor, passed away Sunday, May 17th.

  Linda Tyler is requesting prayers for her sister, Essie Brown, who had a heart attack Tuesday, May 19th. Please pray for her and her family.

  Louise Williams: “A big thank you to all who delivered the journals and pens for Mother’s Day.”

SUNDAY MORNING (MAY 24th)

Since Robert Wade and Jamie Burns will be presenting the lesson this Sunday, May 24th, Gerry Binford will be giving the lesson at 9:00 a.m. on the Parable: The Narrow Door, along with Tim and Jimi Johnson. There will not be a coloring page for The Parable, but Robert will be sending out a coloring page for our 10:15 time together.

TEENS’ HANDS FREE WORKCAMP

Any student who wishes to participate in our Hands Free Workcamp, which is May 31st – June 5, needs to go to www.handsfreemissions.org/register/ to register ASAP (before next Wednesday, May 27th). There will be a time to honor two of our elders, who will be stepping down, and their families. On Sunday, June 14th, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. we will have an opportunity to show our appreciation to Richard and Sandra Brown and Ed and Delois Smith and their children, Meghan and Alex. There will be more information shortly.

 

 

 

 

INDIVIDUAL COMMUNION SUPPLIES

Individual prefilled communion cups are available at the church office. You may pick up as many as you need. (Please call – 256-534-0382 or 256-508-9404 before coming to make sure we are here.) When we leave the church office on Friday, we will leave some on the wicker chair on the church office porch. If you are unable to pick them up and would like some, please call (256-534-0382 or 256-508-9404) and we will have some brought to you.

MASKS

There are some masks (sizes: child – XL adult) in the church office for those who do not have one and would like one. They are made out of fabric and are washable. Please contact the office (256-534-0382) before coming by to get one.
