Ayesha
Bhatnagar:
“Dear brothers and sisters in the Huntsville church, thank you for your prayers
and calls regarding the health of me. I am going through the stages of grief
and I am weak in this struggle because I am so attached to the things of this
world. My treatment option of aggressive chemotherapy will impact my life in
many ways. The Lord's mercies have been steady. The Lord is teaching me
something, but I don't yet know what lesson that is.
Old fears, vicariously lived through my Mom's struggle with cancer, have resurfaced.
She was my age-36, when she was first diagnosed.
Please pray that I handle cancer in a way that glorifies my LORD. Pray my faith
to fail me not; and when my fears are pressing overwhelmingly, to trust God’s
enduring love.” (Cards may be sent to Ayesha
Bhatnagar, 14141 E Jewell Ave, Apt 103, Aurora, CO 80012.)
Dot Bowen: “R.J.
will be leaving from Hawaii to the Philippines today (Sunday, March 7). Pray
for their safe travel and pray his relationship with the Lord be strengthened.”
(Update: “RJ and fellow marines all arrived safely. Thanks for your
prayers.”)
Pat
Canterbury: “Please continue to pray for my cousin, Wayne
Kinman. He had his lung drained and was finding it much easier to
breathe. He has an appointment tomorrow (Monday, March 8) for another CT
Scan and contrast imaging to prepare him for radiation, which should begin
the middle of March.” (Update: Wayne had the CT scan and contrast
imaging. The doctors will be doing chemo one day a week along with
radiation beginning March 16. Please continue to keep him and his wife, Pam,
in your prayers. Thanks.)
Charlie
Hopkins is
in Crestwood Hospital, Room 427. Please keep him in your prayers.
Tonda
Kuhn: “Please
add our crew. John is in Georgia with our crew and our extras. Pray they
have a good day and a safe trip home.” (Update: All arrived safely home.)
LaVonne
Norville will be going to a specialist in Birmingham Tuesday (March 9th)
concerning basal cells on her eyelid. (Update: The specialist believes it was a
benign cyst – he drained it and sent to a pathologist. Please pray that all is
well.)
Please keep Dean Oden
in your prayers, as he had to go to the ER this past week and was diagnosed
with having a mini stroke. He is now at home. Please continue to pray for him.
Joan
Palmer: “Pray for Claudette Luke, a first
cousin in Louisiana, who remains semi-comatose for 6 weeks now after a COVID
exposure, but no definite diagnosis. She is a Christian and we ask for God to
awaken her. Thanks.”
Grant
Ralph: “My
mental health is not all that well, and it makes me feel that I need to spend
my time with some of my brothers in Christ. I know that probably can’t happen, so I need continued prayers for my mental
well-being. And I have pain in my knees and left help that require taking pain
medication 3 times daily. Please pray for these things also.
Tom
and Selwyn Reynolds: “Please
pray for Lisa Cooper and her family. Her father died Friday. It’s hard
to lose both parents within a month of each other.”
Reynolds: “Regina Ralston had a biopsy on a sore she has had on her foot. She got the
results, and it is malignant melanoma. Please ask the family to pray she
can get insurance to get it removed and get the treatment needed. Also, prayers
for peace for her and Russell during this would be appreciated.”
(Update: “Praise God! He
provided quickly!! Regina has insurance now. Prayers for a
quick oncologist appointment are requested now. Thank you, Family!”)
Please keep Lee Strickland
in your prayers as he will be going to the doctor on Tuesday to find out the
results from his tests. (Update: Lee has found out that he has cancer.
Please see article under Help Needed.”

THANK YOU
Dear Central Church Family,
We were very touched by the beautiful space themed baby shower you
threw for us last weekend. We felt loved and cared for. There were so many details,
the books, gifts, gluten free cookies, and so many more, that were all really
touching. Thank you for being God's outpouring of love to us and our upcoming
baby. In
Christ, Heidi & Bryan Haviland
On Sunday, March 21st,
at 5:30 pm, Central is hosting a congregational supper with a focus on sacrificial
love and benevolence.
This will be a celebration of our
time together in the letter of James over the last six weeks, as well as
another opportunity to practice obedience to biblical teaching. James begins
his letter by encouraging his readers to “not just be hearers of the word, but
doers” (1:22) and he concludes his letter with a warning to the rich,
specifically to those who selfishly value money over people. As a family of God
serving in the city of Huntsville, we value the financial blessings we’ve received, and we strive to use our resources to help
others in need.
For our meal, we’ll
have soup, crackers, and water. The simplicity of the meal as well as its lower
cost is intentional. Our goal is to partake in a sacrificial meal and to
give what we would normally spend on a Sunday night dinner to our benevolence
fund. May the Lord use this meal and the Central Family to bless those in need!

CENTRAL ADULT
WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN-PERSON AND ONLINE CLASSES
TONIGHT at 7 pm
The Bible has some great throne room scenes that provide a glimpse
of what it’s like to be in God’s presence. John’s
vision in the book of Revelation picks up on some of the visuals from Isaiah
and Daniel to describe that awe-inspiring experience.
This coming Wednesday night, we will be reading passages from the
book of Revelation and then singing songs that are connected
with those readings. The gymnatorium will be available for those who
want to participate in person, and the assembly will be livestreamed at https://www.centralfamily.org/ on the
Central Family YouTube channel for those who want to sing along at home.
Spring Term –
March 17 through June 2 – Wednesdays at 7 pm
1. The Gospel According to Mark — In-Person (Mask
Optional) and Zoom Option
Each gospel account is a character sketch of Jesus. In Matthew we
see him as King; in Luke, his humanity is emphasized as Son of Man. In John, we
see him as Son of God. Mark, the shortest of the four gospels, shows Jesus in
action and this action shown is the nature of a servant. “The Son of Man did
not also come to be served but to serve and give his life a ransom for many”
(10:45). Throughout Mark's account we see Jesus going from place to place,
immediately responding to situations, just as one would expect a servant to
respond. Mark is the shortest of all the gospels and can be easily read in one
sitting. Our class will attempt to lift up Jesus as
servant and discuss how we can follow his example and do the same.
The gymnatorium will be available for those who want to
participate in person. Masks will be optional, and chairs will be configured to
support as much physical distancing as desired. Class participation will be
moderated to promote interaction both from the floor and from those who choose
to participate online via Zoom. Teacher: Allen Wright

2. Let Your Hearts Not Be Troubled (Women Only, Zoom
Only)
2020 troubled the world with fear, confusion, and mistrust as
pestilence, civil unrest, and disrespect engulfed our communities. Fortunately,
Christianity is a faith of hope and of certainty; of
blessings independent of external circumstances. Join us this quarter as Jesus
and Paul remind us that, regardless of the turmoil in our society, we can know
that we are loved, protected, and blessed, and that we have the strength to
love, protect, and bless others.
Wednesday evenings this Spring, the Ladies’ Bible class will study
selected New Testament scriptures in detail using a variety of proven Bible
study methods. The class will meet over Zoom and the majority
of the class time will be dedicated to discussing what we’ve learned, so
participants should be prepared to share their insights and discoveries. If you
have any questions, contact Melinda Goad or Tina Palmer. If you’d
like to participate, send an email to Pat Canterbury <pat(-at-)centralfamily.org> asking her to
add you to the email list that will include the Zoom link and class handouts.
