Thank you very much for your recent cards.              Bobbye Ashley

Brevity is not my strong point when my heart is overflowing. I was overjoyed at the number of people who stayed after bible class Wednesday 19th to share in my 85th birthday. The college fellows who spontaneously led the birthday song did a great job. I loved all the flowers, gifts from some of the children, cards and especially the hugs, good wishes. Thanks to Claudia who planned it and everyone who participated in any way. Now I’m looking forward to what is in store when I reach 90! I love each of you!

Special thanks to the Central Church of Christ, The Marriage Ministry, and all of the couples who participated in the marriage retreat.

Our hearts were filled with the love, fellowship and acts of kindness shown to us as your facilitators for the weekend. We were truly blessed by all. Our hearts will forever cherish the memories.

May God continue to bless you and the marriage ministry.

Adults, please join us in the auditorium Wednesday for the wrap-up of our Saints and Sinners in a Fallen World series. Following closing thoughts and challenges from Mike Lowery, Brad Seal will lead a devotional focused on the words of Jesus.

Our congratulations to Brandon Crittenden, son of Rondell and Juanita. Brandon was named to the University of Alabama Deans List for fall 2019. He will also be honored on March 29th by the UA Black Scholars Honors for his outstanding Academic Achievements.

May 29-31

Mark your calendars for May 29-31, when we will engage in a weekend workshop with Keith Lancaster, of the singing group Acapella.

We are encouraged in Ephesians 5:19 to speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as we make music in our hearts to God. Keith Lancaster will be bringing a team to Huntsville and to Central to provide the congregation with instruction and training on how we can improve our congregational singing and assembly time.

As a Christian who has dedicated his life to encouraging others through song, Keith is also passionate about helping congregations grow in their unity and love for God and each other through meaningful, vibrant, and quality singing. Acapella singing, at its best, is a sweet sound to those who hear and participate in it and a sweet aroma that swells up to God the Father and Jesus.  More details about this inspirational event will be provided in the next few weeks. In the meantime, we want to encourage as many as possible to plan on attending this upcoming event and also pray that it will be successful for the Central family.

Plan now to join us, Friday through Sunday, May 29-31 for an inspirational time together in song!

To God Be the Glory,

Ed Smith & Gerry Binford
