PRAYER REQUESTS

  Garrett and Karin Bell: “Please pray for our college students as they return to classes. Pray that their spirits will be lifted, and please take the time to encourage them when you see them over the coming weeks.”

  James Blackman: “Please pray for the Wharton Family that they may find comfort in their time of loss. Let God be a constant presence in their days.”

  Cornelius: “Pray for the family of David Karr. His wife, Sharon, passed away this week.”

  Jon Culp: “Pray for Matt Norman. He is sick.”

  Dittos: “It is great to see so many old friends and visitors this morning (Sunday, January 5th)!”

  Lilli Karlin: “Please keep Joanie Dixon, my children’s aunt, in your prayers. She is about to get her wings for heaven.”

  SióBhan, Carlos, and Asher Keeton: “Please keep Rodney in your prayers this week as he travels to Dallas for a youth ministers’ conference. Pray that he is blessed with spiritual and professional encouragement this week.”

  Bill Kuhn: “Pray for my sister, Geri. She has problems for which she needs God’s help and healing.”

  John Kuhn Family: “Please pray for the family of Bennie Mae Turner as she passed away Friday (January 3rd). Also all of our college students returning to school.”

  Johnny Kuhn: “I pray that those in my church would realize their true worth that God places on themselves and those around them and that we would act on this.”

  Lance and Jodi Moore: “Prayers for the guys graduating His Way Sunday, January 5th, and especially Brandon Powell.”

  Jeff Norville: “I come before you today to ask you first for forgiveness. When I was here before I did many wrongs and lived in sin. I have repented of this to the Lord and been forgiven. So now I ask for yall’s forgiveness. I have come here to do right and ask for your prayers and support as my church family. I want to become a part of this church family. Thank you for everything and every prayer for me and my son. In Christ.”

SYMPATHY

Our sympathy is extended to:

  Michael Turnipseed and his family in the passing of his grandmother, Mable Conyers. Visitation was today. Celebration of Life will be tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at the Ousley UMVC, 3261 Panola Road Lithonia, GA 30038-2322.

  The Norville Family in the passing of Jim’s mother, Betty Norville, Saturday, January 4th. Her graveside was today in Herrin, IL.

FAMILY VACATION RETREAT JANUARY 17TH – 20TH, 2020

The campus ministry's annual Family Vacation Retreat in Panama City Beach is here again. This year's theme is SHOOK, Shaken by God, Shaking the World. As last year, those Central teens who are juniors and seniors are also invited to join and the campus ministry will help sponsor those that want to go. There will be special classes designed for them. Rodney, our youth minister, will be going with the teens. We really hope this will be well attended by our teens and college. The cost is $80 per person. Note that cash will also need to be taken to cover meals. The deadline for signing up for the trip is January 10. There will be a meeting on Thursday, January 16, at 7:00 at the building for all those going. Trip information will be discussed and needed forms will be filled out. If you have any questions, interested in going, or interested in helping someone to go that is financially unable, please contact Gerry Binford (256-508-9407).  

MEAL PREPARATIONS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE

The sign-up list to prepare meals for the college ministry at their FNLs (Friday Night Live) is posted inside of the kitchen area. LIFE Talks or individuals, please sign up. Thanks. Any questions contact Carla Campbell (256-882-6449). 

HELP NEEDED

Servants are needed to serve in the Nursery during Sunday Assemblies. A new signup sheet has been posted outside the nursery or contact Cathy Farless at 256-509-3541 (text or voice) if you are willing to help.

2020 Central Marriage Retreat

Join us at the Central building and enjoy time connecting with other couples while strengthening your marriage.

Theme: Making Our Marriage A Light For Jesus

Date/Location: February 7th – 9th at Central Church building

Speakers: Robert and Stella Wilson – Family Dynamics Institute, Atlanta

Registration: NOW—mid-January    

Suggested donation: $65 per couple to cover speakers and retreat expenses. Donations not required but appreciated. Assistance by providing scholarship money will be appreciated.

Lunch Provided: Saturday, February 8th

Childcare: If possible, please make other arrangements for childcare and utilize in- house childcare only as a back-up plan.

TUESDAY LADIES’ CLASS

Tuesday Ladies’ Class will begin their Spring Session January 28 at 10:15. Reading and studying the Psalms will be the class focus. We will be using a series published in Christian Woman Magazine” as a guide. If you would like to teach a class, please let Terri Apgar, Janice Greenleaf, or Sue Underwood know by January 18. We are presently preparing the teaching schedule. Remember, childcare is provided for pre-school children.                   Looking forward to seeing you in class,
